Attracting Birds to Your Garden

Ahh, the sweet sound of a lark! What could be more pleasant on a summer day? (Okay, besides a cold brewski?) In fact, sound raises the chi in your garden, which is why Feng Shui gardens often have wind chimes and other music makers in them. (See Chapter 12 for more information on the role of sound in Feng Shui.)

Birds not only provide an attractive visual and auditory treat when they visit your garden, but they also eat insects, such as mosquitoes, that cause problems for people (and their plants). Attracting birds, especially to an area of the garden that may have problems with slow-moving or stagnant chi, helps the chi move more freely throughout the space. (See Chapters 1 and 2 for more information on the movement of chi.)
